Dr. Carrasquillo’s presentation for the Katherine & Bryant Mather Commemorative Lecture Series during the opening session of the ACI Fall Convention in Washington, DC was titled “The Millennial Culture: A Challenge to the Way We Do Engineering.” The presentation focused on the millennial culture and how they receive, manage, and use information and resources. He had the audience asking themselves; Are traditional teaching institutions, codes, specifications, standards, and professional associations of value in the Millennials fast-changing world? This unique presentation touched on a topic that is of much value to the future of engineering and its culture while at the same time recognizing Katherine & Bryant Mather not only for their professional accomplishments, but for the people they were outside of the engineering community.
