CA at Austin Habitat for Humanity

CA recently participated in an Austin Habitat for Humanity (HFH) volunteer building event in a neighborhood on Austin’s east side. This event made history for Austin’s HFH for being the first ever to build two-story homes for deserving families. The Austin HFH’s decision to build two story houses allowed them to build 11 homes instead of 8 for families in need. CA’s team performed several tasks including landscaping, fence builds, painting and general house clean up in preparation for the dedication event and introduction of the new homes to the deserving families. CA was grateful to be part of the volunteer crew on that specific day because we were able to meet the families and see the homes that will make up this East Austin cul-de-sac community.

What makes this project so special is that not just one house was built, but a whole community of families with the same values and aspirations enduring countless hardships, that have now united and worked together to help construct each other’s homes. Sponsors of this HFH community included Silicon Labs, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America, among others. You can visit Austin’s KEYETV news article for more information on this wonderful event.
